Specimen wine was born at the end of November 2020 as a wine that stands out for combining different peculiarities that make it unique and unrepeatable. For the elaboration of the award winner Specimen 3, the winery has selected the best grapes from three different vintages – 2017, 2018 and 2019 – from diferente plots of the 64 hectares that Finca Villacreces vineyard owns in the Golden Mile of Ribera del Duero.
These three vintages are made separately, aged for 48 months in Bordeaux barrels and 1200 liter foudres resulting in a very complex wine and one of the most surprising of the winery and Ribera del Duero. The varieties used were Tempranillo (85%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%).
